The story behind these unique and mesmerizing earrings begins in Russia. That's where the diamonds were mined and cut. Our connection buys the diamonds directly from the Russians. This is not like walking to the supermarket to buy a loaf of bread, believe me. We're talking purchases
that are generally above $20 million.
The
purchase of so many carats, which we can then look through and pick what we
want, is one of the reasons we were able to select such a wonderful match.
I love a
good I1 clarity in an ear(ring). I love a high color on the ear. The combination of E
color and I1 clarity is a great one for a pair of earrings. Plus, both of
these guys have strong blue fluorescence, which absolutely makes them look as if
you plug them into a socket in some lighting circumstances. They are both super
white. The I1 aspect is saving you thousands of bucks on this pair over an Si1
pair.
These diamonds are what I would term "benign I1 clarity.". That is to say, the imperfections are not a huge honking mass, rather subtle areas of small imperfections that combine to cause the I1 grade.
In the diamond above is a few little smears of white-you can see them around
five o'clock.
In the diamond below, there's
smatterings of black... but again, nothing significant in one particular area.
These photos are taken extremely high red's close-up. That means your eye
could never really see it in this detail without the aid of some sort of
magnification device. For this reason, these are both eye clean I1
diamonds.
They are
also both beautifully cut. I am a pear-shaped lover, and very particular when it
comes to the organic shape that will satisfy me. It's got to look like a
teardrop. Both of these do.
We were
equally particular, selecting the diamonds that these beautiful E colored diamonds would hanging from.
The pair totals 1.06 carats . They are also a "gem quality" cut.
To my
eye, the proportion between the sizes is very pleasing.
The
platinum work is artful. The diamonds are very secure, yet the
setting itself seems to disappear when viewed from the front. It is
sublime.
This pair has screw back closures.
The
small details count. For example, there are no "V tips" on these earrings.
Instead, three prongs at the pointed end.
