How much will my new diamond appraise for? |
Here's a unique pair of
diamond earrings.
They are fancy enough for
special occasions, yet can be worn to the supermarket.
It was not easy to make these-
as finding the correct combination of stones took some time. We like things just
so.
The
colorless stones come from "Sam spade"- an ld and trusted diamond dealer friend
who hand picks fancy shapes for "make". The colorless stones are beautifully
cut.
When it came
to the Natural Yellow Pear Shapes, the primary concern was a good color- sparkle
was an essential element. I also would not sacrifice great cut.
To me, great
cut means a stone that has great life. For earrings, I wanted a pair of stones
that looked at least their weight....if not a bit larger.

Both of these natural yellow pear
shapes have good size for their weight. They are slightly different in shade.
TO my eye the one above is Fancy
Light Yellow, the one below is slightly darker- a Fancy Yellow. I don't find the
subtle difference to be any bother. They are a lovely pair.
The mountings are custom made-
very subtle and pretty.

Photographing diamonds is a
difficult task. Our goal is always the same- shoot and publish photos that most
accurately represent the diamond. The photo above is a composite- I took close
ups of each earring, then photoshopped them together.
It's really hard to get a good
focus on a single diamond, much less two- forget about four. Below was my best
effort at getting the pair together

Photos are good, yet they must be
seen in context. We do this by publishing many photos. Color representation, for
example, requires several photos. In addition this stone posses a unique orange
fluorescence making photography even more difficult.
