Here's a diamond
which was presented to us as in a group of 8 stones- all but this glorious
cushion were Radiant Cut. I liked some of
the others for sure.
Still, this one
stood out for it's lovely profile, strong color, and tremendous sparkle.
The color is a lovely light lemon
yellow. You'll never mistake this for a white diamond- yet the color is a lot
softer- more pastel than a Fancy Intense Yellow. Many people are actually drawn
to this shade- and enjoy a price which is about 1/3 that of a nice looking Fancy
Intense Yellow as graded by GIA. Not 1/3 less- a third the price!
GIA graded the clarity SI1. I'd
say I disagree with them, but that really makes no difference. The few miniscule
imperfections that caused them to issue the SI1 grade are incredibly difficult
to spot with a ten power loupe. No human could spot them naked eye.
The stone is a "Bucket of crushed Lemon Ice"
in terms of the sparkle. You can clearly see what I'm talking about in the video

When we
look at a cushion, we're not looking for "Heart and Arrows"- as much as a stone
that has a bottomless look. Especially in a Fancy Colored diamond, such as this
one.
The Ring
Man, do I love this design. Again, this is just another case where my opinion
is secondary ( I'm married). The main thing is that you love it.
The ring is a classic design, executed flawlessly. I'm so proud of the folks
that work for us.
The 12 diamonds that surround this 1.53ct cushion are about four points ( 4
100th's of a carat) each. believe it or not, that's relatively large, when it
comes to Halo style rings. The prongs at the outside edge give the design a
floral motif- natural and flowing.
The ring is beautifully
constructed- it sits low to your finger. There's no catchy prongs
either. You could rub it on your finest cashmere sweater with nary a
snag.
