Is a Y-Z
Natural Light Yellow Diamond
yellow
enough for you?
Well, these
photos and videos give you a really good idea.
I've always
thought that the GIA grading system has some deficits in the area of light
yellow diamonds. Primarily due to terminology. You see, the color scale starts
at "D"- a totally colorless diamond. As we go down the alphabet, the diamonds
start to show more of a tint.
Past letter
N, the grades contain two letters ( O-P, Q-R, S-T, U-V, W-X, and Y-Z) Past Y-Z,
the next darker grade is called "Fancy Light Yellow"
That
nomenclature makes it sound as if Y-Z is NOT a fancy color. Yet, looking at this
diamond, anyone can see it's yellow- a fancy color. The up-side of this has to
do with your wallet. If this diamond had gotten the next darker grade, the price
would increase about $2000

ACTUAL Photos and Videos of
th is remarkable diamond
The stone has been graded SI1 clarity by GIA. There is a small imperfection in
the center of the stone. I can see why they graded it SI1- but it could have
easily gotten VS2 on a different day. This tiny imperfection is not even visible
in these ultra close up photos.
The diamond is completely clean to the naked eye.
In
terms of cut, this amazing Fancy Color diamond scores really well.
There is no grading system for the cut of a colorless Radiant Diamond- much less
an Yellow one, like our 1.79carat
On the
subject of cut, we never compromise.
I love the way the
three stones look together. The photography was particularly difficult on this
one. The angle of the side diamonds is perfect for the ring- but the camera
seems to "diss" the side diamonds if the center is head on.
The side diamonds are
cut beautifully
This is a fully custom made
Platinum and 18karat yellow gold ring.
Even if we make 1000 three
stone rings, each one is slightly different.
We simply refuse to
compromise about how the stones fit into the settings. So we make the settings
for each ring.
The story of the side
diamonds.....
We got our hands on a
parcel containing 49 diamonds. That's 33.63 carats of natural light yellow
radiant diamonds.
The cutting is
consistently beautiful. We made at least a dozen pairs of earrings- and also
picked some for side stones.
How can we offer the prices we do?
We're
never trying to be the cheapest. On the other hand, we've always been extremely
competitive with other internet advertised sellers.
We have a
lot of advantages. The diamonds in the photos directly above, and below are a
parcel of diamonds. We selected some of them- this stone is from the parcel.
We were able
to negotiate a very attractive price. The diamonds had never been to GIA- we
sent the stones we purchased to GIA.
We offer you the opportunity to buy from a wholesale dealer,
offering top level retail services, and not pay retail prices....
