GIA 2.16ct K/VS2 Perfect Tear Drop Pear Cut Diamond

This is a very organic, very classic pear shape. You really don't see many pear shapes and even more rare is one that is well cut with a nice shape.

In the biz, we call a nice shape a good "model"
and a good cut a nice "make".

This one has both of those bases covered.

It is a large pear diamond for under $10k. A D color would run you.... oh I don't know, a whole lot more, that's for sure.

Now you might be wondering about the K color. It is white enough to look white in a white metal. But go to our Colorless Diamond Grading page and look at all the face up photographs of diamonds in order by GIA graded color. The difference is subtle. The GIA doesn't actually grade colorless diamonds face up, but this is how YOU look at them.
Here is my professional advice:

They look best when they are set face up.

But if you are a big fan of super snowy white colorless diamonds, this one is not for you. And we will flat out tell you that. We will not hold your parakeet hostage until you go for the "antique white" colors. And if you have a certain budget (and who doesn't?) and want more size instead of more whiteness, this is a good one.
