Prior to setting  This diamond is an incredibly rare specimen of a true antique diamond with close to vivid yellow color. It's remarkable for so many reasons. The cut is gorgeous - and clearly antique in nature. The facet junctions - and other aspects prove this is a diamond originally cut about 175 years ago. The diamond has been restored - while preserving he original nature unhampered. The restoration involved a perfectly faceted girdle. This makes setting and wearing the diamond much safer. I believe it also adds a teeny percentage more sparkle. If there were abrasions there were also cleaned up and removed. I did not see the diamond before these restorative moves - but observing the perfect condition of the diamond leads me to believe it was brought back to its original beauty - and given a safer girdle.    The diamond is by no means symmetrical - and that is part of its charm.   The
ring is a feast for the eyes- and also a joy to touch, and hold. The
center stone is surrounded by a ring of natural yellow micro pave. This is
in turn surrounded by a ring of .04ct diamonds  Then
the micro pave shank with the "ribbon"    Beautiful
hand forged undercarriage.
