This is an amazing ring by any standard. First of all, it's large - 17.5 x 15 mm across the top.
More importantly, however, is the color of the sapphire. It is like the "fairy tale" Ceylon Blue Sapphire you have dreamt of.
The ring has perfectly matched ovals that were picked and re-picked until each stone fit exactly right.
We had the setting remade twice to perfect the design. It is one of a kind ring! The ovals encircle the sapphire so closely.
Since there is no proof otherwise we have to assume that this sapphire was heated - a very common practice.
Also on a stone of this size and color, a non heated stone would be at least double the price.
In some of the brightly lit photos you can see a bit of "color banding" but this is not possible to see it live.

WE LOVE SAPPHIRES THAT SPARKLE 
In the photo on the right, you can see what I'm talking about. The Sapphire on the left is quite a nice one. Believe it or not, in this particular case, the Sapphire on the left had a higher price than the stone on the right- which is the stone I chose. It's making it's new owner very happy as you read this. Sparkle is the type of Sapphires, Rubies, and Emeralds we carry.
Our stones are all NATURAL - including this awesome Sapphire. This one is a great example of the sparkle I love combined with a vibrant color
Many Natural Sapphires, including this one, are heated during the cutting and finishing process.
